Light Iron welcomes Andrew Geary as Senior Colorist

Renowned artist brings extensive feature and series experience, further bolstering company’s roster of creative talent.

NEW YORK (November 14, 2024)Light Iron, the post-production creative-services division of Panavision, is excited to announce that Andrew Geary has joined the company as a Senior Colorist. Based out of Light Iron’s New York facility, Geary’s addition further strengthens the company’s world-class team of final colorists.

With nearly two decades of color-grading experience, Geary has lent his expertise to feature films including director David Mackenzie’s Relay, Jeff Wadlow’s Imaginary and Ry Russo-Young’s The Sun Is Also a Star, and episodic content such as Blue Bloods for CBS, Severance for Apple TV+, and The Righteous Gemstones for HBO.

"I'm so excited to join this incredibly talented team," Geary said. "I'm here to serve my clients, and I want every filmmaker to be as happy as possible. Light Iron's size goes a long way, with the capabilities to support everyone from indies to the major studios while staying nimble enough to give each project a truly personal touch. Also, the relationship with Panavision will give me a greater connection to the filmmaking process, allowing me to better help our clients through their whole journey from prep through post."

Geary comes to Light Iron from Company 3, where he began his career in the engineering department before transitioning into color as an assistant and dailies colorist. His early projects included assisting on the grade for titles including Drive and The Place Beyond the Pines. Since then, he has continued to build an impressive slate of work, including the Ben Stiller-directed limited series Escape at Dannemora, the independent feature Meadowland from director-cinematographer Reed Morano, ASC, the documentary miniseries The Case Against Adnan Syed, directed by Amy Berg, and the comedy series Tires from creators Shane Gillis, John McKeever, and Steve Gerben. Most recently, he contributed final color to National Geographic’s survival story Endurance, released this month.

"Andrew brings a wealth of experience that spans multiple genres and mediums, from theaters to streamers to traditional television," says Tim Belcher, Managing Director at Light Iron. "His artistry and technical expertise are perfect complements to our team, and he shares our passion for enabling creatives to tell their stories in the best way possible. We're thrilled to welcome Andrew to Light Iron."

Geary joins senior colorists Katie Jordan and Élodie Ichter and colorist Keith Jenson at Light Iron's New York location. Light Iron's celebrated roster of artists also includes supervising colorists Ian Vertovec and Corinne Bogdanowicz, senior colorists Charles Bunnag and Ethan Schwartz, and colorist Pat Fitzgerald.
